Job Summary:

The part-time custodian keeps the facility clean by dusting, trash removal, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, using industrial cleaning equipment for floor care, cleaning, and stocking.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The part-time Custodian reports to the Facilities Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The tasks listed in this job description are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this job.

● Sweep and clean floors

● Sanitize tables, chairs, fitness equipment, and kitchen equipment

● Restock disposables as needed

● Use appropriate cleaning materials and adhere to MSDS guidelines

● Operate floor cleaning machine(will teach)

● Report unsafe areas or equipment in need of repair to manager

● Request cleaning supplies when supplies run low

● Take trash to outside dumpster

● Assist with setting up meeting rooms and event spaces as needed

Other Job Expectations:

● Assist as needed with DSI special events and functions

● Assist with emergency situations as directed

● Attend in-services, staff meetings and training as required by manager

● Adhere to all DSI policies and procedures and safety guidelines

Required Skills/Abilities/Education:

● Basic verbal and written communication skills

● Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations

● Requires using basic addition and subtraction such as measuring or data calculations

● Requires reading and writing basic sentences

● Requires understanding of verbal or written instructions or work orders

● Ability to work independently or as a team when needed

Physical Demands:

● Environment: Most often this position will be in a climate-controlled environment.

● Not a Work from Home Position - The incumbent must be able to perform duties on-site – on-going work- from-home is not an option.

● Requires work that involves walking, standing, climbing, bending, stretching and lifting on a regular basis

● Job also includes the exerting of and/or lifting up to 50 pounds of weight or force on a regular basis.

● The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures

● Should have the ability to communicate verbally and understand written instructions and safety information.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
